The Turtle and The Rabbit Story
A turtle named Timmy and a rabbit named Roger formerly resided in a deep jungle. While Roger was quick and vivacious and constantly seeking out new adventures, Timmy was calm and steady, spending most of his days in the peaceful forest.
Roger once challenged Timmy to a race, confident that he would triumph handily. Timmy consented to the race but only on one condition because he was aware of his own limits. Timmy answered,
“I’ll race you, but we’ll race to the top of the mountain”.
The race started after Roger, who was confident in his speed, accepted the challenge. Timmy plodded along at his own slow pace while Roger swiftly gained the lead and easily darted through the jungle.
As the race continued, Roger grew tired and slowed down while Timmy kept going, never losing his focus. Finally, after hours of racing, Timmy reached the top of the mountain, and Roger arrived shortly after, exhausted and out of breath.
Emphasizing Timmy’s determination and endurance, Roger apologized for underestimating him. From that day on, the two became great friends and would often explore the forest together, but Timmy always took the lead, showing Roger the beauty and wonder of the forest that he never knew existed.
Moral of the Story
The moral of the story is that slow and steady wins the race. Timmy’s determination and consistency helped him to achieve his goal, while Roger’s impulsiveness and rush led him to exhaustion. It also teaches us not to underestimate others based on their appearance or abilities. Instead, we should give them a chance to prove themselves.
